Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Cuddly Companion Company was born on the other side of the world during an adventure fuelled by friends, fun, and a little fancy dress.

While backpacking in Australia, our founder Kyle found himself at a remote farm hostel surrounded by 100 other travellers, far from home. One weekend, with drinks flowing and laughter filling the air, someone suggested a movie-themed fancy dress party. His choice? Mr Bean, complete with a second-hand blazer, a red tie, and a little teddy bear rescued from a charity shop.

The outfit was a hit (there may have been some questionable dance moves involved) but the next morning, nursing a sore head, a new idea sparked: “What if this teddy came on all my travels this year?”

And that’s exactly what happened. Teddy became a travel companion on every adventure, snapped in photos across beaches, mountain trails, and city streets. More than just a costume prop, he became a way for Kyle to stay connected to family back home, especially when he realised he’d be missing the birth of his cousin. Teddy turned into a little ambassador of fun, love, and memories made far from home.

Years later, that simple spark of an idea grew into something bigger, inspired this time by Cooper, Kyle’s own cockapoo. Since Cooper couldn’t travel the world, Kyle designed the next best thing: Coco, the Ultimate Adventure Mascot, created in Cooper’s image.
